Emergency
Lebanon’s children are living in constant fear
Lebanon’s children are living every day in fear, as a barrage of shelling and air raids increase amid a surge in attacks.
More than 600 people, and at least 50 children, were killed in just one week in September – the worst period of violence in the country for 18 years.
The crisis is the latest emergency to hit Lebanon, which has already been devastated by years of conflict, a cholera outbreak and economic crisis, reducing access to health care and education.
And since 2023, when conflict began in Gaza, things have only gotten worse for children.
In fact, more than 350,000 children have been displaced in Lebanon. They are struggling to access safe water and sanitation and face the threat of disease. Food is scarce too: more than 8,000 children suffering from severe hunger are currently untreated.
Over 211,000 people in total have been forced from their homes by the ongoing conflict.
All of this in a country where hospitals are overstretched by the latest attacks and families are struggling to access healthcare.
The situation is desperate, and there is now a risk of a full-scale war which would have a devastating impact on the country’s 1.3 million children.
They desperately need your help to survive. Please donate now.
