Emergency
Lebanon’s children are living in constant fear
Lebanon’s children are living every day in fear, as a barrage of shelling and air raids increase amid a surge in attacks.
At least 35 children were killed in just one day in September – the worst period of violence in the country for 18 years.
The crisis is the latest emergency to hit Lebanon, which has already been devastated by years of conflict and economic crisis, reducing access to health care and education.
In fact, more than 39,000 children have been displaced over the past year. They are struggling to access safe water and sanitation. Food is scarce too: more than 8,000 children suffering from severe hunger are currently untreated.
They even face the threat of disease, after the re-emergence of cholera in September 2022.
All of this in a country where hospitals are overstretched by the latest attacks and families are struggling to access healthcare.
The situation is desperate, and there is now a risk of a full-scale war which would have a devastating impact on the country’s 1.3 million children.
They desperately need your help to survive. Please donate now.
