Digital Rights and Online Safety

Children and young people in Ireland are increasingly taking action to promote online safety and digital rights. With the rise of internet usage among children in Ireland, there is a growing awareness of the importance of protecting young people from online harm and promoting responsible online behavior. Young people are advocating for better digital literacy and online safety education, and for stronger measures to protect children from cyberbullying, online grooming, and other forms of online harm. According to recent statistics, 98% of Irish children aged 9-16 use the internet, and 66% have experienced some form of online risk. UNICEF supports and empowers children and young people to become advocates for online safety and digital rights, recognizing that their voices and actions are essential for building a safer and more inclusive digital world for all.
