Become a Champion for Children

Your business can support children in emergencies

Champion for Children is an annual membership programme that allows your business to make a meaningful impact for children living in emergencies caused by conflict and natural disasters.
By becoming a Champion for Children, your business can help save children’s lives during emergencies while demonstrating leadership, generosity, and a commitment to a better future.
When you sign up, your business will be recognised as a Champion for Children, receiving benefits that demonstrate your values to your employees, customers and stakeholders.

Your Impact with UNICEF

With offices in more than 190 countries across the globe, UNICEF is the world’s leading children’s organisation, committed to upholding the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and advocating for all children, everywhere.

Champions for Children contribute to the Children’s Emergency Fund (CEF). This fund allows UNICEF to plan and prepare for the eventuality of an emergency, pre-positioning vital life-saving emergency supplies in at-risk regions and provide training on distribution and use of supplies before an emergency. So that when a disaster does strike, we are ready to reach children with life-saving support anywhere in the world within hours.

As a Champion for Children, your company can make a real difference in a way that works best for you:

  • Annual Donation: Fund emergency responses and vital recovery projects by making a direct and annual company donation.
  • Employee Fundraising: Boost pride and teamwork with creative fundraising ideas. We will provide your staff with ideas and tools to create your own fundraising challenges on behalf of UNICEF Ireland.

Every euro you give helps provide a vital lifeline where and when it’s needed most. For example:

  • €500 could provide 85 children with thermal blankets, keeping them warm in times of crisis.
  • €1,000 could train one mental health professional to deliver psychological first aid and other critical support in conflict zones.
  • €5,000 could provide 32 ‘school-in-a-box’ kits, helping nearly 18,000 children continue their education during emergencies.
